“I just love racing, so anytime I get a chance to be behind the wheel, I am going to.”

While most of his NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoor Truck Series playoff competitors are enjoying a rare weekend off, that won’t be the same case for Grant Enfinger. Instead, he will be partaking in the ARCA Menards East event at 5 Flags Speedway.

The event was originally scheduled for Saturday night, but has been postponed to Sunday late afternoon due to the hurricane in the area.

“I’m looking forward to that,” Enfinger said. “Any chance I can get to run an ARCA car or at Five Flags Speedway, I jump all over it. Pretty fortunate. I appreciate Chad Bryant letting me get behind the wheel of his car this weekend.”

While embracing any time he can get behind the wheel, Enfinger says this weekend is all about the chance to race close to home.

“I grew up in Fair Hope, which is about 45 minutes west of Pennsacola, and all our family – both me and my wife’s family – is still there, and I actually have family right down there in Pennsacola,” he explained. “I’ve always tried to run the Snowball Derby every year and I’ve been fortunate enough to run quite a few Late Model races down there growing up. I haven’t run the Snowball the last few years, but I’d always jump at the opportunity to come back home and race.”

A lot of uncertainty remained whether the deal would come together, despite the fact that Enfinger and Bryant had talked on multiple occasions about doing the event. Though once the schedules were confirmed for both ARCA and the trucks, things just worked out.

“We’ve raced against each other for quite awhile and always been buddies,” Enfinger commented. “I raced one race for Cunningham Motorsports, but that was before Chad was the owner there, and that was – Paul Andrews called that race; I think it was one of the dirt races three years ago. But I’ve talked to those guys all the time, go by their shop all the time so buddies with all the guys.”

Enfinger is no stranger to the ARCA Menards Series, winning a past series championship which ultimately led to his opportunity in the truck series. Now he hopes to rekindle some of that glory this weekend.

“I wouldn’t be going down at this stage in the game if I didn’t believe I had a chance to win and Chad has good stuff,” Enfinger expressed. “So hopefully it turns out to be a good performance and shows how good his stuff is.”
