The stars of the NASCAR Xfinity Series will have to wait another two days before they return to the track, as the Toyota 200 has been postponed to Thursday, May 21 at 12pm ET.
The announcement comes following rain falling throughout the day at Darlington Raceway, with more showers expected throughout the rest of the evening.
The weather has been a discussion topic from the very beginning of the weekend, with NASCAR initially moving the start time for the Xfinity Series event from 8pm to 6pm. There is more rain in the forecast for Wednesday, with the sanctioning body already announcing the Cup Series race is slated for 6pm rather than 8pm.
If NASCAR is unable to run the Cup Series race as scheduled on Wednesday, it is expected to be moved to Thursday night at 7pm ET. Now if rain continues throughout Thursday, moving the event further ahead to Friday has yet to be confirmed, as the sanctioning body has to consider the Cup Series event at Charlotte on Sunday, May 24.
